01 Dec Barclays Soft Skills Development Workshop – CVs And Cover Letters

On the 20th November the NCS hosted the second soft skills workshop on CVs and Cover Letters to a group of 30 students. We were privileged to welcome a team of thirteen senior Bankers from the Barclay’s treasury division to work and provide feedback to our students on what makes an excellent CV and cover letter.

Students were able to hear first-hand what managing directors are looking for in CVs when employing graduates in international firms. Additionally, students were also told what they should be doing to sell themselves to prospective employers to ensure they are good candidates for the position on offer. We look forward to welcoming Barclays again in the near future to work with our students.

Senior individuals leading the event were impressed with the calibre of our students, their ability to interact well in a professional environment and with how they responded to a very challenging case study. Specific feedback included:
